John Gaeta ist Mitgründer und Executive Creative Director der Sparte Immersive Entertainment bei Lucasfilm. ILMxLAB. ILMxLAB entwickelt und produziert bahnbrechende „Immersive Entertainment Experiences“ für Star Wars und andere Fantasie-Universen. Gaeta ist besonders bekannt für seine Arbeit an der Matrix-Trilogie, für die er formatprägende Innovationen wie „Bullet Time“, „Virtual Cinematography“ und „Volumetric Capture“ (UCAP) entwickelte, um menschliche, heldenhafte und gottgleiche Momente zu Bildern zu machen. Für seine Arbeit wurde er u.a. mit dem Oscar ausgezeichnet. Zu seinen jüngeren Betätigungsfeldern gehören „Photo Anime“, „Nuvies“ (Natural User Movies), „Holo Cinema“, „Immersive Cinema“, Virtual Reality und Mixed Reality. Heute arbeitet er eng mit der Lucasfilm Star Wars Story Group, Concept Group und Advanced Development Group (für Real Time Graphics), der Virtual Production von Industrial Light and Magic sowie Disney`s Forschungs- und Planungsgruppen zusammen. John Gaeta ist zuständig für die Kreativstrategie und Entwicklung des Multi-Plattform-Portfolios von ILMxLAB. Unter den ersten Star Wars Original Experiences, die aktuell entwickelt werden, ist unter anderem die bevorstehende Virtual-Reality-Serie zu Darth Vader, die in Zusammenarbeit mit Autor David Goyer (Dark Knight) verfasst und produziert wird. ________ John Gaeta is a co founder and Executive Creative Director for Lucasfilm’s Immersive Entertainment division: ILMxLAB. Gaeta is a creator, inventor and an Academy Award®-winning designer best known for his work on the Matrix Trilogy where he explored form bending innovations such as "Bullet Time", “Virtual Cinematography” and "Volumetric Capture" (UCAP) in pursuit of envisioning human, hero and god-like moments. More recent areas of exploration include “Photo Anime”, “Nuvies” (Natural User Movies), “Holo Cinema”, “Immersive Cinema”, Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality.Today, he works closely with Lucasfilm’s Star Wars Story Group, Concept Group, Advanced Development Group (for Real Time Graphics), Industrial Light and Magic’s Virtual Production and R&D Groups and Disney’s Imagineering. John Gaeta oversees creative strategy and development for ILMxLAB’s multi platform development portfolio. Amongst the premier Star Wars original experiences being currently developed is the forthcoming virtual reality series based on Darth Vader being written and produced with writer David Goyer (Dark Knight).
