Automating Creativity - How Artificial Intelligence changes Creative Processes

Short thesis

IBM Watson is cutting horror film trailers, BBC is translating its content via artificial intelligence, Computer Vision is colouring black-and-white films, sharpening photos and stabilising video. Can creativity be automated?

Description

Tools and libraries are created, allowing editors to produce a video segment within minutes. Texts for sports events are already written fully automatedly, and computers are creating entirely new images and works of art. The even make it possible to fill gaps in images. Neuronal networks calculate 3D images from 2D, recognise objects within images and catalogue entire databases. What are the opportunities of automation? How can new tools and instruments be integrated into existing processes? Which effects do automated production tools have on content? Who is benefitting from the new tools? What are their uses?
